Adjuster-Ready Documentation

Every inspection includes photo documentation, measurements, and a written damage scope your adjuster can act on. We're not a public adjuster (that's a separately licensed role) — we're the contractor your adjuster wants to work with because the paperwork is already done right.

Real Adjuster Meetings

When it helps the claim go through, we meet your adjuster on site so we're looking at the same roof, the same damage, and the same scope. Most claim disputes happen because the adjuster and the contractor never compared notes — we don't let that happen.

Hundreds of Successful Claims Since 2019

Family-owned Orlando contractor, in business locally since 2019, with hundreds of completed insurance-claim restorations across Central Florida. Storms, hail, hurricane bands — we know what each carrier looks for and document accordingly.

Filing a roof insurance claim in Florida is straightforward when the damage is documented properly and complicated when it isn't. The single biggest reason claims get short-paid or denied isn't fraud — it's bad documentation. Adjusters approve what they can see and measure; if the contractor's photos are blurry or the scope is missing measurements, the claim gets cut. Southern Traditions Roofing has handled hundreds of Central Florida claims since 2019 — we know what each major carrier (Citizens, Universal, Heritage, State Farm, and others) needs to see to approve a fair scope.

Our process: free initial inspection with photo documentation and damage measurements; a written damage scope you (or your insurer) can act on; coordination with your adjuster — including meeting them on site when that helps; and once the scope is approved, the actual repair or replacement, with all final paperwork and inspections handled. We are not a public adjuster (that's a separately licensed Florida role) — we're a Florida-certified roofing contractor (CCC#1332902) with strong adjuster relationships built over six years of claim work.

Most claims are storm or hurricane related, but we also handle hail, fallen-tree, fire, and water-intrusion claims. Whether you've already filed, are about to file, or are still wondering whether you have a claim, the first inspection is free and gives you the documentation either way. Call (407) 579-6397 or use the form above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a public adjuster?

No — public adjusters are a separately licensed Florida role that negotiates the claim itself on your behalf. We're a licensed roofing contractor (CCC#1332902) who provides the documentation, scope, and adjuster meetings that make the claim go through. If you need a public adjuster, we can refer you to ones we trust; otherwise, the documentation we provide is often what the claim needs.

What documentation do you provide for the claim?

Photo documentation of all damage (close-ups and overview), measurements (roof area by section, damage extent, slope and pitch), a written damage scope, and a written estimate for repair or replacement. If your roof is over 10 years old we also document material condition to help with depreciation arguments.

Will you meet my adjuster on site?

When it helps the claim go through, yes — we coordinate with your adjuster directly so we're walking the same roof and looking at the same damage. Most claim disputes come from the adjuster and contractor never being on the same page, and we make sure that doesn't happen.

What if my claim was already denied or short-paid?

We can do a second-opinion inspection and document anything the original inspection missed. Many denied or short-paid claims get re-opened with stronger documentation — we'll tell you honestly whether your case looks like one of those, or whether the adjuster called it correctly the first time.

How long after a storm can I file a claim?

Florida law generally gives you up to 1 year from the date of the storm to file a notice of claim and up to 18 months to file a supplemental claim, but check your specific policy — some carriers tighten these windows. The sooner you file, the easier the claim usually goes; old damage gets harder to attribute to a specific storm event.

Will filing a claim raise my premium?

It can, depending on your carrier, your claim history, and Florida's overall insurance market — which is volatile. We can't promise a specific outcome, but a single weather-related claim is generally less impactful than a fault-based claim. We'll give you a written estimate first so you can compare against your deductible and decide whether the claim is worth filing at all.
